JetStar announced today that it has secured rights for JetStar Asia to serve Shanghai although flights have yet to be formally announced. Flights are almost certain to be from the expanding hub in Singapore and the only question appears to be whether this will be an A320 or an A330-200 route with through connections from Australia.

China is regarded as a major target for JetStar Asia and with the latest announced flight expansions not accounting for all five of the A320s expected in Singapore by the end of the year further Chinese routes, probably to Guangzhou and/or Shenzhen, are expected to be announced.
