Jetstar Boeing 787-8 VH-VKE positioned Melbourne – Denpasar as JQ8989 in the early hours of this morning in order to operate an additional Denpasar – Melbourne sector as JQ7014 to repatriate passengers affected by the volcanic ash cancellations yesterday.

Jetstar Japan A320SL JA14JJ operating GK621 Tokyo Narita – Kagoshima diverted to Fukuoka this morning due to weather at Kagoshima. The aircraft then positioned Fukuoka – Nagoya as GK7900. As a result GK690 Kagoshima – Nagoya was cancelled.

Jetstar A320 VH-VFJ operating JQ171 Melbourne – Christchurch (depart Melbourne 13th June), diverted to Auckland in the early hours of this morning due to weather at Christchurch. The aircraft later continued Auckland – Christchurch as NZ7243.

Jetstar A320 VH-VGQ Operates Tasman Extra.

Jetstar A320 VH-VGQ operated an additional Auckland – Coolangatta rotation as JQ7238/JQ7239 this morning. This operated in place of yesterday’s JQ238/JQ239.

Cathay Pacific Objects to JetStar Hong Kong Route Licence Application.

Cathay Pacific this morning confirmed that it has formally objected to JetStar Hong Kong’s route licence application to link Hong Kong with 129 destinations in 13 countries. The Cathay Pacific statement said “Approval for the application for a licence to operate in Hong Kong by JetStar Hong Kong would be a violation of Article 134 of Hong Kong’s basic law because JetStar Hong Kong does not have its principal place of business in Hong Kong. The application was published in the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Gazette and Cathay Pacific Airways can confirm that it has filed a formal objection to the application.”

JetStar Hong Kong has four A320s in storage awaiting route licence approval.

JetStar A320 VH-VFJ Returns from Tokyo Narita.

Following yesterday’s technical issue JetStar A320 VH-VFJ departed Tokyo Narita today operating yesterday’s delayed JQ78 Tokyo Narita – Manila – Darwin as JQ78D. Knock on delays will leads to the aircraft operating tomorrow’s JQ62 Darwin – Melbourne late as JQ62D.

A330-200 VH-EBR Positioning Flight.

JetStar Airbus A330-200 VH-EBR positioned Melbourne – Sydney as JQ7982 this afternoon following the cancellation of the Melbourne – Sydney sector of JQ30. The aircraft then returned to Melbourne as JQ35.

JetStar A320 VH-VQL Positioning Flight.

JetStar Airbus A320 VH-VQL positioned Brisbane – Newcastle this afternoon as JQ7982. The aircraft operated into Brisbane as JQ636 from Avalon then departed Newcastle as JQ477 to Melbourne.

JetStar Japan Receives Air Operators Certificate.

Jetstar Japan, the joint venture between QANTAS subsidiary Jetstar and Japan Airlines, received its Air Operator’s Certificate on 06-Apr-2012 from Japan’s regulatory authority the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT). This will been that JetStar Japan can now launch services as soon as 3rd July 2012.

Sydney Airport Masterplan Revealed.

A new masterplan for Sydney Airport has been released today. JetStar domestic operations would remain as they are at Terminal 3.
