JetStar Asia today announced schedule increases on the Singapore – Kuala Lumpur, Singapore – Phuket and Singapore – Yangon routes effective 28th October 2012.
Singapore – Kuala Lumpur leaps from 23 to 51 weekly services with the introduction of four new rotations.
Singapore – Phuket increases from 14 to 18 weekly services.
Singapore – Yangon increases from 4 x weekly to 6 x weekly from 28th November 2012 and then goes daily from December 26th.
JetStar Japan today announced the following new services to commence on 28th October 2012.

Commencing on July 1st the current 3K401/3K402 Singapore – Auckland rotation, which is currently a JetStar Asia service operated by a leased JetStar Airbus A330-300, will switch to being a JetStar service using flight numbers JQ216/JQ217.
From July 4th the service will reduce from 4 x weekly to 3 x weekly operating from Singapore on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and from Auckland on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
JetStar today announced the following service changes:
From 23rd August 2012: Cairns – Sydney increases from 21 to 28 flights per week.
From 13th September 2012: Cairns – Gold Coast increases from 7 to 14 flights per week. Cairns – Melbourne increases from 25 to 28 flights per week. Cairns – Brisbane increases from 24 to 30 flights per week. Cairns – Adelaide increases from 6 to 7 flights per week. Melbourne – Townsville increases from 4 to 7 flights per week.

Commencing 26 March 2012 JetStar will be extending its Darwin – Manila service on to Tokyo Narita. Flights will operate with the following timings:

Flights will be operated with VH registered Airbus A320s. Due to these rotations taking the aircraft away from Darwin for longer the current Darwin –Ho Chi Minh City rotation will be dropped.

JetStar will withdraw service on the Cairns –Auckland route effective 30 October and on the Coolangatta – Queenstown route effective 11 November. Additionally frequency on the Brisbane –Christchurch route will be reduced from daily to 3 x weekly between 3 December 2011 and 24 March 2012.
Commencing 22nd December 2011 JetStar is to launch flights on the Wellington – Queenstown route.

The 3K401/3K402 Singapore – Auckland service will be reduced from six to four weekly between 11 and 27 September with the suspension of the Thursday and Sunday flights from Singapore and the Friday and Monday flights from Auckland.
Reports state the QANTAS Group is in discussions to begin a JetStar operation in Hong Kong to exploit opportunities into China. In order to do so a majority Hong Kong based partner would be required.
JetStar announced today that it has secured rights for JetStar Asia to serve Shanghai although flights have yet to be formally announced. Flights are almost certain to be from the expanding hub in Singapore and the only question appears to be whether this will be an A320 or an A330-200 route with through connections from Australia.
China is regarded as a major target for JetStar Asia and with the latest announced flight expansions not accounting for all five of the A320s expected in Singapore by the end of the year further Chinese routes, probably to Guangzhou and/or Shenzhen, are expected to be announced.
JetStar today announced that it will commence Melbourne – Singapore – Beijing services on 24th November 2011 using Airbus A330-200s. The announcement was made in Beijing with JetStar chief executive Bruce Buchanan and JetStar Asia chief executive Chong Phit Lian both present.
The flight is a continuation of the existing JQ7/JQ8 service and will operate:
JQ7 Melbourne 1200 – 1650 Singapore 1835 –Beijing 0050+1
JQ8 Beijing 0250 – 0930 Singapore 2050 –Melbourne 0655+1
The return flight has a twelve hour layover in Singapore making for a 25 hour 5 minute journey southbound as opposed to 15 hours 50 minutes northbound. This would appear to be an extremely strange piece of scheduling although the aircraft may operate another service from Singapore in the interim or be swapped out.
Services are at present shown as being operated by JetStar rather than JetStar Asia.
JetStar today announced an A$500 million investment in JetStar Asia aimed at expanding the Singapore based fleet by adding five Airbus A320s and two Airbus A330-200s. This will enable further new routes to be added as well as increasing frequency on existing routes to Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City from 2 to 3 x daily, Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 19 x weekly, Hong Kong from 17 to 24 x weekly, Denpasar from 24 to 26 x weekly and Jakarta from 20 to 21 x weekly.
Additionally a new 4 x weekly service to Hanoi will be inaugurated on 15th December with flights operating as follows:

By the end of 2011 JetStar Asia plans to have 17 A320s and 4 A330-200s operating out of Singapore although the A330s will be on a wet-lease arrangement from JetStar mainline until 2012 when four aircraft will move from the Australian to the Singaporean AOC and will take up 9V-*** registrations.
JetStar have announced plans to commence service on the Auckland – Dunedin route commencing on July 14th, breaking Air New Zealand’s monopoly on the route. Flight timings will be:

JetStar and Tourism WA have announced new routes from Brisbane and Coolangatta to Perth and expansion of services from Melbourne and Sydney to Perth. An additional four services per week are added on both the Sydney – Perth and Melbourne – Perth routes from October 31st 2010. Brisbane services commence on December 10th 2010 and Gold Coast services from 4th April 2011.
The news that Virgin Blue is to cease domestic New Zealand operations has prompted JetStar to announce that a further two A320s will be based in New Zealand. No firm date has been announced for the extra deployment although Virgin Blue will exit the market on October 18th 2010.

JetStar have announced that a seventh A320 is to be based in New Zealand. It is not clear at this time whether the aircraft will be for International or Domestic services.
JetStar today announced the commencement of longhaul routes from Singapore after another two Airbus A330-200s arrive in December. Routes will be announced shortly and would either be into Australia, northern Asia or southern Europe. Rome and/or Athens are expected to be the selected southern European ports. The expansion will create upwards of 200 jobs in Singapore
