New JetStar Trans-Tasman Services Announced.

JetStar today announced new trans-Tasman services.

Daily Auckland – Melbourne services commence on February 1st 2011.

JQ215 Melbourne 2335 – Auckland 0455+1

JQ210 Auckland 0620 –  Melbourne 0815

4 x Weekly Auckland – Cairns services commence on May 3rd 2011.

JQ290 Auckland 1835 – Cairns 2020

JQ291 Cairns 2100 – Auckland 0515+1

All flights will be operated by Airbus A320s.

JetStar Launceston Flights Announced.

Additional services on the Melbourne – Launceston and Sydney – Launceston routes are announced to commence in December 2010.

Sydney – Launceston services commence on December 2nd with the following timings.

JQ745 Sydney 0800 – Launceston 0945

JQ746 Launceston 1015 – Sydney 1150.

Melbourne – Launceston services commence on December 10th with the following timings:

JQ737 Melbourne 1215 – Launceston 1320

JQ740 Launceston 1350 – Melbourne 1450

All flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.

New JetStar Queenstown Services Announced.

New JetStar trans-Tasman services to Queenstown will commence from Melbourne and Coolangatta on December 16th 2010. Schedules are as follows:

Melbourne – Queenstown
JQ219 MEL0855 – 1400ZQN Thursday & Sunday
JQ220 ZQN0950 – 1115MEL Thursday & Sunday

Coolangatta – Queenstown
JQ221 OOL0845 – 1515ZQN Monday & Friday
JQ222 ZQN0950 – 1035OOL Monday & Friday

Flights are with A320 aircraft. On arrival in Queenstown the aircraft continue to Auckland as JQ280. Departures from Queenstown are provided by aircraft from new service JQ279 from Auckland.

JetStar A320 VH-VGR JQ452 Adelaide Return.

JetStar Airbus A320 VH-VGR performing flight JQ452 Adelaide – Coolangatta returned to Adelaide today after cabin crew reported a hot, oily smell in the cabin. 

JetStar Boeing 787 Deliveries Brought Forward.

JetStar today announced that it has sealed a deal to bring forward delivery of eight Boeing 787-8s by around two years meaning that the aircraft will now begin arriving mid- 2012. The initial eight aircraft will go to JetStar for International operations allowing A330-200s to transfer to QANTAS. The remaining 43 aircraft in the order will consist of a further seven 787-8s which are expected to go to JetStar and 35 787-9s which will go to QANTAS to replace the 767-300 fleet. Deliveries of these aircraft are set to commence in 2014.
